INVENTORY

This 2007 exhibition was held at Art First, London. I presented a broad range of small works that reflected my interests in portraiture, fragmented ways of knowing, repeated looking and museum installation strategies.  Just before shipping the works to London, the poet Lynne Slonimsky visited my studio. Her intense and close looking at the new works gave rise to a flood of haiku poetry that she wrote in the weeks following her visit.

Here in this moment

Temporary suspension

Before it passes

Visceral forces

Honed with intensity

Ethereal form

Day by day by day

Before the look of the other

A being transformed
